WiseTalk App: Introducing the Proofreading Keyboard Extension for iOS and Android — Perfect Every Word and Sentence You Write!

Ever sent a message, only to cringe at the embarrassing typo or auto-correct fail? Ever drafted an email, painstakingly considering every word, only to find out T9 had other plans? In our fast-paced digital age, communication mishaps are all too common. From a text to a friend that ends up meaning something entirely different because of a typo, to a professional email tarnished by overlooked errors — we’ve all been there. Now, with WiseTalk’s newest feature, these are woes of the past.

Introducing the Proofreading Assistant Role and its companion AI Keyboard. Imagine a personal editor, diligently reviewing your texts, emails, and notes, ensuring clarity, and eliminating common pitfalls before you hit send. No more accidental blunders or awkward autocorrects. No more need to copy text from one app to another for proofreading. With the embedded Proofreading AI Keyboard, perfection is right at your fingertips, accessible in any app you’re using. Say hello to confidence in every word and sentence you write, ensuring your message is always received as intended.

The Proofreading AI Keyboard is an almost perfect tool, but at times, the WiseTalk App can be especially useful, particularly if you need to proofread text not written in English. While the keyboard is designed to correct any language known to ChatGPT, using the app might yield slightly better results, at least for the time being. Moreover, it’s useful if you want to hear the proofread version before sending it, especially when on the move. After all, WiseTalk is a voice interface to ChatGPT.

The ability to read aloud the result of the proofreading will be added to the app in the next version.

So, let’s start with the app.

Default Proofreader

To select the Proofreader role for the AI assistant, initiate a new conversation by tapping the Plus button.

On the subsequent screen, tap the Mic button if you wish to use voice dictation for composing text.

Press the Send button if your sole intention is to proofread for correct grammar, syntax, punctuation, and other potential errors.

Once you receive the result, you can copy it for use in any other application.

Advanced Proofreader

To maximize the benefits of the Proofreader, activate the Advanced Option by toggling it On.

Select the desired text tone, style, and target audience you wish to address.

Those are available options:

Tap the Send button. Naturally, the Proofreader will not only correct grammar, syntax, and punctuation but also enhance your writing to meet your desired standards.

Once you receive the refined text, you can copy it for use in any other application. Additionally, you can review all modifications in the “All Changes Explained” section.

As mentioned earlier, you can now achieve the same results without having to launch the WiseTalk app, select the Proofreader role, or copy and paste the results into other apps. This is made possible as WiseTalk now features an integrated companion keyboard extension that’s compatible with Mail, Messenger, Messages, LinkedIn, Twitter (X), Gmail, and more.

Enabling Proofreading Keyboard

For iOS

To enable the WiseTalk keyboard, navigate to Settings > General > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard.

Next, grant ‘Full Access’ to the keyboard, as it sends texts to the cloud/ChatGPT for proofreading. You can find more details about this at the end of this article.

For Android

Enable the WiseTalk keyboard by navigating to Settings > System > Language & Input > On-screen Keyboard.

Then, turn on the toggle next to ‘WiseTalk Proofreading Keyboard’.

That’s it! Now, open any app with a text input field, and you’ll find the WiseTalk AI Proofreading Keyboard available by switching keyboards.

Simply type your text and press the ‘Proofread’ button to correct grammar, syntax, and punctuation. The revised text will automatically appear in the input field. If you want to proofread only a portion of the text, select it before hitting ‘Proofread’.

Keep in mind that the keyboard extension has access to the portion of text before the cursor, so make sure it’s at the end before you hit the ‘Proofread’ button!

Advanced Proofreading Keboard

To unlock advanced features, such as the ability to select a specific text tone, style, and target audience for your writing, tap on the “Advanced” button located at the top of the keyboard. Choose the desired text tone, style, and audience in the same manner as described under the Proofreader Role. Once set, simply hit the ‘Proofread’ button. Your revised text will appear in the “Result” tab above the “Explained” section. You can check this if you’re curious about the changes. If you like the modifications, simply tap the ‘Use It’ button at the top of the keyboard.

Employ the WiseTalk AI Proofreading Keyboard whenever you draft a message, email, or any vital piece of text to ensure clarity, precision, and professionalism with every keystroke.

Enabling Full Access for WiseTalk AI Keyboard (iOS)

To provide you with the best experience, it’s essential to enable “Full Access” for the WiseTalk AI Keyboard. Here’s how you can do it:

Open Your Settings:

Begin by tapping on the Settings icon on your iPhone or iPad’s home screen.

2. Access Keyboard Settings:

Once in Settings, scroll down and tap on General.
From the General menu, select Keyboard.
Now, tap on Keyboards at the top. This will show you all the keyboards you have installed.

3. Find WiseTalk AI Keyboard:

In the list of keyboards, tap on WiseTalk AI Keyboard.

4. Toggle On Full Access:

You’ll see an option labeled Allow Full Access. Switch the toggle to the ON position (it will turn green).

5. Acknowledge the Confirmation:

A warning message will appear. This is a standard iOS message for all keyboards requesting full access. Rest assured, WiseTalk prioritizes your data privacy and security. Tap on Allow to proceed.
